CIP Composites as Knife Handle Material (TeroTuf)

CIP has been making sheet material for the custom knife makers around the country. Recognition is growing for TeroTuf which is polyester resin and polyester textile. Whereas micarta and g-10 materials are phenolic resin and cotton/linen textile. The difference: TeroTuf is easier to machine, doesn’t crack or fracture, does not swell with moisture, and is all-around tougher.

Knife maker Dan Keffeler (Seattle area) is customer maker that is using TeroTuf on his latest design that is nearly indestructible. Check out this video of the CPM 3v test featuring TeroTuf handle at approx. 5:50 into the testing.

Split Hanger Bearings

Some application, screw conveyors are most common….are still using wood hanger bearings. CIP offers hanger bearings that are self lubricated and may extent the wear life of the bearings. Especially in the corrosive environments and or high temperature applications.

CIP-HMI contract for Voith/BC Hydro/GM Shrum Project

CIP’s Canadian distributor, HMI Bearing and Wear Products have been awarded the contract to supply all wicket gate, link and servo bushings. In addition, supplying the operating ring wear pads, wicket gate thrust washers and counter thrust segments for BC Hydro project at Gordon M. Shrum hydropower units 1-5. CIP Composites are manufacturing all these parts for HMI who was awarded by Voith Hydro. Read the whole article through www.hydroworld.com.
